OVERCOMING PAIN

Image
Hey Tribe! How is your week going? I trust you all are doing ok. I am well, thanks for asking.  So, a few days back was the National Daughters day celebration and I wanted to take out time to celebrate my girls AKA Tana and Tilda. If you have been on this blog long enough you probably would have encountered them here already Thinking of celebrating them has kind of reminded me of all the beautiful struggles I've had in my journey to motherhood. And what better way to kick off the season of our #overcoming pain series than, to begin with, my own story and creating awareness for postpartum depression. So I thought of sharing my journey to motherhood and postpartum depression. My Journey started in 2016 when I had my first child Matana AKA TanaT. Kindly read up on all my banter with Tana  here and  here ALL ABOUT MY POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION JOURNEY You’ve probably heard of the “baby blues.” That’s because it’s quite common for new mothers to feel a little sad, worried, or fatigued. BEEHIVE (FINAL PART)

Barely three months after Josh reunited with his girlfriend Tina, although they were back together still on rocky ground. She called him up one evening to break the news to him.  "Hey J, I thought we were supposed to see last night. what happened? Anyways, I've got big news for you. We need to see, are you home? I'm coming over now. *** At Josh's house Tina breaks the news of her pregnancy to Josh. "I don't understand, we only just got back together," said Josh on hearing the news. "And what does it mean? it doesn't take a million years for a woman to get pregnant. Brace yourself, dude, you are going to be a father". "Something is not adding up here, how did this happen Tina? "You keep asking me useless questions. What do you mean, how did this happen? We had sex J, yes, sex, and that's exactly how pregnancy comes about. Now stop being a killjoy and let's celebrate this big news jor".  *** Flashback After Josh canceled

LEARNING CURVES 2

Hey Tribe! How is the month going so far? I trust you all are doing ok.  This could be your perfect Monday Morning Motivation.  Still on Learning curves, today we will be unlearning and maybe flattening the curves too. So, sometimes ago I had a conversation with Tana ( my four years old daughter). I was chatting on the phone with her teacher who she misses so much and won't stop talking about her. Her teacher wanted to call to speak with her, guess what Tana's response was; 'no'. A very loud and big no for that matter! I was surprised that she said "no" to someone she had always wanted to speak with and was always gushing over how much she misses her. So I asked, "don't you want to speak with your favorite teacher or you don't miss her anymore?"   Her reply dazed me. "No mummy, I miss my favorite teacher so much but maybe not now. I can't talk to her now. My chest!  The African mother in me almost waved the back of my hand at her fac

TGIF Tribe! How are you all doing? I trust your week has been good.  We are going to be having a cruise this weekend as we will be concluding our love story. Sit tight, grab your popcorn, and read on as the drama unfolds. Read up on Beehive (part one)  here BEEHIVE (PART TWO) "Hello! Hello Josh, I know you can hear me. I'm at the door, please let me in" That was Tina, Josh ex girlfriend or should I say his "pain in the neck". Josh met Tina in his final year back in the university. They feel in love and soon become quit an item until he graduated and left her in school. Afterward, their relationship became an off and on kind of affair but one thing was sure, Josh loved Tina so much and he was more than willing to do whatever it takes to keep her. Years down the line, Josh had just started his company and fortunately for him, he had a foreign investor who was willing to help grow his company. He invited Josh over for dinner one day so they could finalize for the i

BEEHIVE (PART ONE)

Hey Tribe! How is your week going? I trust you all are doing ok. I promised to conclude our love story "Beehive" this week but I figured it would be better to post the part one afresh,  to save you the stress of having to search through the blog. Yes, you can now.  Here is Beehive  (Part one) *** Sandy and Josh have been seeing each other for two months now. What initially was meant to be a work meeting turned out to be a date night.  Sandy, a top manager in one of the leading multinational companies. Josh was going to be handling supplies for the company and he was scheduled to meet with the manager to finalize his proposal for the supply.  He walked into her office that Tuesday afternoon with his portfolio in his hands and his dreams in his head. The whole atmosphere was filled with the smell of fresh lavender. The office was well decorated to the tip, just like that of a senior exec you see in the movies. Common Sandy is a top manager in a multinational for that matter. Jo

Hey Tribe! I trust you all are doing ok. This could be your perfect Monday Morning Motivation. What has been going on with you all? The Tribe has been very quiet or is it I who haven't been engaging enough? I guess so. Don't blame me, I'm still in my recovery mode and just relearning how to do things all over again.  Are you in the same state as me? Not to worry, you are allowed to take things slowly, one step at a time, and you will surely get back on your feet. In trying so hard to balance things and make out time for everyone in our lives, we should not forget that we are only human and therefore, have a limit to what our hearts and mental capacity can take. Don't overstretch that limit, otherwise, you would break. So, I stumbled on a piece from Foodace and I thought to share it with my Tribe. Hear her... "I have mastered the art of ignoring that which intends to steal my joy. I have learned that it is OK not to be ok. I have learned that rejection doesn't m

SEPTEMBER TO REMEMBER

Image
Helloooo! Hey Tribe! Welcome back, or should I say "thank you for staying tuned" because  I know you all never left the Semes Nooks blog. I am sorry for being away for so long    (the last post here was 10th of August). This baby girl was very ill but I am better now, glory to God. Thank you all for sending your love and prayers and for checking up on me. The love has been so overwhelming and to be honest, it gave me the strength to "get up and go" because this baby girl saw the seven hills and valleys. Again I am thankful ( feeling so emotional right now. You already know I love love, lol). I also had an amazing love and care from my family. It felt so good to know and be reminded that you are loved against all odds. Yes, I've been a prodigal for a while (covers face). I am thankful for family and my sisters (you know yourselves). So we are in a new month and September already. Allow me to congratulate you on making it this far. God has been merciful and we can
