UNWINDING 2020, THE NEW YEAR FINAL COUNTDOWN

Image
Dear 2020, Thank you. You were a good year. Yes, even if the world believes otherwise because of all the paparazzi you brought with you. You were a good year for me.  Dear God thank you. Dear Tribe, where do I even begin?  I was in my room one day, amid my fears and worries and God said "it's time to share your stories". Just like that God gave the vision. It took a million heartbeat the first time I pushed the "publish" button for the first post . You all received me and the love had never stopped since then. So when I say 2020 was my best year yet, I mean every sense of it.   2020 I also found my voice and I haven't stopped voicing since then. I also graduated from the Destiny Academy of the  Daughters of Destiny Interdenominational fellowship I just might be starting a church soon. lol. presentation of gift as the second best graduating student The latest bible graduate in town     What else, yes, I lost my most vital relationship this year too but hey!

HE SAVED ME! MY TESTIMONY

Praise God! Yes, praising God for keeping us till the end of the great 2020. I personally want to thank God for His mercies and wondrous work in my life and I cannot end this year without sharing my testimony with you all. Please join me in thanking God.  2013 I swam in a pool and by the time I got out, my eyes and ears were itching badly. Turns out there was too much chlorine in the water. The itching in my eyes stopped after a while but the ears never stopped. I visited an ENT, got treated but I kept having a reoccurrence.  I got married in 2014 and by the time I was pregnant with my first child in 2016, the itching ears started again. I visited the hospital and doctors insisted it was hormones , and even if it wasn't, there was nothing I could do as regards taking drugs. So I was left with my itching ears. Surprisingly it stopped after I had the baby, but came back when I got pregnant again. Ha! Is this my own pregnancy hormone imported or what.  After the second delivery, it st

It's the end of the year 2020 and I cannot contain my joy. Just two days to go for this particular year I can't fully express how I feel. I am thankful for God's grace and unending mercies over our lives. I have long zoned out of watching the news and not being so active on social media platforms. I decided that the fear, the horror, and all negative narratives being pushed was not for me. "For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind". 2Timothy 1:7 KJV So whatever they say about 2021, it will be good for us and we will be supernaturally strengthened.  I would like to share a few tips on what kept me going this year; I had a coach. This didn't have to be one I paid for. I had coaches on a different aspect of their lives. Especially one's I followed on social media platforms that kept me powered up, with knowledge and made me better.  I advise you get a mentor if you do not already have one you can't keep going

UNWINDING 2020, THE NEW YEAR COUNTDOWN

Hey Tribe! Welcome to a new week. or should I say "The 2021 count down" However, you would like to call it 2020 THE GREAT will be ending in a few days and we will be saying welcome to a brand new year. Just writing this now is making my heart skip a bit but God is on the throne. Lol. Meanwhile, I wanted us to talk a bit. How was the almost concluded 2020 in one sentence? Hmmm! Did I hear you make a deep sigh? Alright, come take a tight hug. Seriously how was 2020? What was/were your goal/goals when the year commenced? Have you been able to achieve them or we should say "to God be the glory" lol? Someone said "staying alive should be the only goal for this year considering all that has happened", and I totally agree.  The bills also have refused to go away, so the show must go on *wink*.  We must continue to plan regardless of situations or circumstances around us.  So let's talk.  Have you ever heard of a vision board?  If it sounds strange don't w

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND THE MORNING AFTER

Image
Hey Tribe! I trust you are still in the spirit of Christmas. How was the Christmas day celebration at your end? I hope you were able to find some time to relax, spend time with family and friends, and just generally have fun. Well, I spent my day resting at home until Matana, my four years old reminded me in the evening that I promised an ice cream date for Christmas, so I had to drag myself out to fulfill that promise.  The DreamGirls And I was glad I did because the joy on their faces was priceless, and Matana actually hugged me and said "wow mum you did it" turns out Mummy has a track record of not keeping to date promises. *covers face*. Meanwhile, today is boxing day, December 26th, in case you have forgotten.  When I was a child I used to think boxing day was for boxing, like an actual fight and I always wondered why people had to fight just after the merriment of Christmas day. Until I dared to ask my Dad and he explained what It meant, the box is for gifting and not f

JOY TO THE WORLD! MERRY CHRISTMAS

"...Oh  Merry Christmas Joy to the world For every nation For every boy And girl Let's light a candle For peace we pray Oh Merry Christmas It's Christmas day It's Christmas day It's Christmas day Let's light a candle For peace we pray Oh Merry Christmas It's Christmas day Oh Merry Christmas It's Christmas day" Merry Christmas Tribe!!! I trust you were dancing to that lovely Christmas song. Please don't ask me how a village girl came to know such a posh song *side eye at you*. Merry Christmas Tribe I've been feeling so Christmasy since I got up this morning. The joy that comes with Christmas can not be quantified. The joy of knowing that you were enough a reason for a man to send His only Child to come to redeem you,  even knowing that at some point you would misbehave and even turn away from Him but He gave His child away regards.  Oh, what a love! I must really matter. Yes, I matter. In fact, I matter in the matter that matters the most.

THE COUNT DOWN: ROAD TO CHRISTMAS 1

Image
A Hey Tribe! How are you all doing today? I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas I wanna wish you a Merry Christmas I wanna wish you... Ok, one more day before Christmas but  I already feel Christmas in my bones.   Especially with all the activities around me.  The whole city of Lagos, southwest Nigeria is filled with the spirit of Christmas.  So, I went to the salon because I wanted to do a little touch up with my short hair or maybe do some cornrows but after I showed my hairstylist the Simbi school girl style I wanted to make, he politely asked me to wait till January. Ha! Bet why? In his words "big mama, I can only do slay queens style now o"  Me, what am I? A slay grandmother maybe, Let me Kuku be going to my house. He will know how important I am in January. Everyone is complaining about not having enough money to spend this season. Please manage the one you have, and if you don't have at all, stay still, help is on the way. Compliments/ complements of the season. I still don't know which is more appropriate, so I will do it the local way, una doh o.  Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. I and Seme have been on snooze for a while on here. Omo! It's adulting. This adulthood takes grace& supernatural backing from our Abba Daddy.  It is not about balls, big girl pants, muscle, or common sense, Nah! It then makes so much sense now.  It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of GOD that shows MERCY. Yup! mercy and God's grace.  This year has been trying but we thank God for His shield and protection. I have to be overly excited about this year's festive period because seeing December 1st was a privilege and it came with excitement. My burden and my worries I have given to God and I intend to feast and feast real big.  I will be sharing my Christmas meal with you all Seme Tribe. I'm not breaking the bank. Hell No! December 25th breakfast; one Titus fish, green onions, grated

WHERE ARE YOU?

Image
This could be your perfect Monday Morning Motivation but I've got a little question for you. Where are you? Yes you, where are you at the moment? And I don't just mean your physical location but with everything going on with and around you entirely.  Remember the first man that was asked this same question? Yes, Adam. The same man whom we all came to be through his existence. God asked Adam this same question when He couldn't find him in the same spot where they used to just hang out and talk every day in the cool of the evening.  " Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “Where  are  you?” So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid.” Genesis 3:9-10 (NKJV) Now God wasn't asking Adam where he was because He didn't know or couldn't see him (of course, He is Omniscient) but He was asking because He could no longer meet Adam in the same mood and place of worship. Adam had allowed the things that didn

"Dashing through the snow In a one horse open sleigh O'er the fields we go Laughing all the way Bells on bob tails ring Making spirits bright What fun it is to laugh and sing A sleighing song tonight Oh, jingle bells, jingle bells Jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride In a one horse open sleigh Jingle bells, jingle bells Jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride In a one horse open sleigh..." This is my favorite Christmas song at the moment, even though I only just learned the right words of that song. You don't want to know the messed up lyrics that have stuck in my head right from my village girl days *na she chew the shoe, as nepa come take the light, something something something something something dey your head*. You know what? Let's stick with the original and correct lyrics as I am not prepared to drag my village elders in the mud today.  It is five days to go and Sunday before Christmas and I cannot help but be joyful and thankful for the gift

KEEP MOVING

Image
Helloooooo Knock knock! Anybody home. Hey Tribe! Long time no see, or should I say long time no read. Lol How are you all doing?  I trust you are already in the merry spirit of the season.  If you are not, don't worry it will come soon. Just be sure to take each moment as they come.  So it's been a long break from here, I know right! Turns out I've been taking my own medicine from all our #Be Inspired post on the blog and using it to motivate myself despite everything happening around me. Read one of our #Be inspired post  here 2020 has been a beautiful journey. Having to make so many life decisions, some very painful ones I must say (I will keep sharing on this blog as we move on). I even lost my dear cousin to emotional abuse and torture ( I still haven't been able to come to terms with the amount of pain and torture she went through). In all, I am thankful for the Seme Tribe, for having my back always, for in you I've had to spread my wings and fly as high as I w

DECEMBER! FINALLY

Image
December is that you?  Finally! Welcome Oboshan  Káàbọ̀ Sannu da zuwa! nno̱ Hey Tribe! I welcome you to December. The last month of the eventful year, 2020. I guess you are as excited as I am because a lot has happened this year and we are grateful to be alive to witness the last month of the year.  How I danced into December Yes, December is here and we hope even more than ever before that only the best is reserved for us in this new month. It is my prayer that God perfects all that concerns us and we will surely end the year with testimonies. Remember the Tribe is in Thanksgiving mood till the end of the year. I'm sorry I've been busy being everywhere. Please keep your testimonies coming, we will keep sharing them.  Meanwhile,  yesterday was World Aids Day, and I wanted to seize the opportunity to give us a little reminder about this world"s deadly disease. World AIDS Day, designated on 1 December every year since 1988, is an international day dedicated to raising awaren
