Sustainability In Business. Business And Tech #WinterABC2021

This could be your Monday Morning Motivation (I bet you haven't read that here for a while now).

Anyways, it is week three in the Afrobloggers Community, and it's Business and Tech o clock.

When you hear business the first thing that comes to mind is buying and selling but business goes beyond just trade.

The Oxford dictionary defines business as “A person’s regular occupation, profession, or trade.” This means your source of income is your business, whether you are selling goods or offering services. So long as it solves a problem, meets the consumer's needs and serves its purpose. 

Some people say they are not cut out for the stress of doing business so they face only the “white collar” jobs. I am one of those people. 

Ok, I want to do business, like the real trade of selling and buying but again I don't. Maybe it is because of the much stress involved but tell me one completely stress-free venture.

I have tried my hands in quite a few businesses from selling saccharine colored water AKA ice cream at age 7 (I promise to tell the story on this series) to groceries, and now everything fashion on semegoldfashion. 

In business it is important to have a plan. Planning is the sole foundation for success. 

Over time, I realized when I plan for just a year, it ends and I'm like is that all? But when I started plannig for seasons in my life, business, and career, it has become a lot easier. Even when the goal for the year is not achieved I am not discouraged because I know I still have some years left in that particular season. 

Seasons also helps you to identify opportunities and positioning. It is through the season you will be able to identify and utilize the plans in your vision board.

Remember, whether you run, walk, or even crawl it won't make The River dry up because you got there late

The time you arrive at your success is your time, so make it count. 

Strive to succeed but do not be in competition. 

Here are a few points from “Meditations with PT” worthy of note.

• It is the small things that nobody sees that lead to the big things that everybody sees.

• The most important thing to be committed to in business is the power to grow.

• Life will always gravitate towards your most dominant thoughts. Keep a positive business mindset.

• Do not look down on your journey. Celebrate your small wins.

• When the big things happen, celebrate. You've earned it!

• Be diligent.

• Resist procrastination. Someday, one day is not a day of the week. What you have to do, do it now

One thing I have come to realize is that for business to thrive and succeed there must be a driving force. You can say profit (money) is enough motivation but beyond profit, your business should be solving a problem and meeting a need. For it is in that you will find the real sense of fulfillment.
